Elena Rodriguez

Elena is an undergraduate student in the Korcsmáros Group, which focuses on the interaction between pathogens, such as Salmonella, and the host intestinal cells, with a special emphasis on autophagy.

She is a 3rd year Biotechnology student from the University of Manchester, currently on the Year in Industry program. Her 2nd year dissertation on “Fibre’s consumption effects on the gut” encouraged her to study more in-depth the gut microbiome, which has brought her to the Earlham Institute, to expand her knowledge in the subject.

In her free time she likes to travel and do outdoor activities.
