Currently, I have a postdoc position (Computational Biologist) at the Earlham Institute. My main focus is microRNA discovery in a variety of domesticated species. I am also very interested in Vertebrate evolution, especially the adaptive radiation of African Cichlids.
My background is in molecular (undergraduate) and evolutionary biology (Master degree). For my Master thesis project, I worked on human evolution, testing different versions of the 'Out of Africa' model. After completing my Masters, I moved to Norwich to start my PhD at UEA, School of Computing Sciences. My project focused on combinatoric and algorithmic approaches for the reconstruction of cancer karyotypes, as well as the inference of a rearrangement evolution.
