I work as a Research Assistant in the Platforms and Pipelines team, initially working within the high throughput BACs pipeline. I have recently gained experience in next generation sequencing and am confident in maintaining and running the breadth of Illumina platforms we have here at the Earlham Institute. I have also been trained in library construction with experience in constructing RNA, DNA and PacBio libraries by hand and on automated platforms.

I completed my degree at the University of East Anglia in 2013 having studied Biological Sciences with a Year in Industry. While on placement I worked at a pharmaceutical company performing cellular assays to assess the potential effectiveness of early stage drug compounds. Since graduating, I held a post at the John Innes Centre in the Lab Support Service before moving to my current role at EI.
