William Glynn

I am a Year in Industry undergraduate student working in Genomics Pipelines. My project is on assessing the cost-effectiveness of Oxford Nanopore for RNA sequencing. I have also been trained in Illumina and PacBio sequencing, as well as the coding languages R and Python.

Before starting at Earlham Institute, I undertook internships at the Mullard Space Science Laboratory in Surrey and the Wellcome Trust Centre for Human Genetics in Oxford, where I learnt data analysis and gel electrophoresis. I then studied for two years at the University of Birmingham, specialising in genetics. Next year I will return to Birmingham to complete my master’s degree.

Besides science, my main interests are languages, calligraphy and taking my small terrier for long walks.
