I joined EI in April 2021 as a Lab Technician. My main responsibility is to provide technical support to the COVID testing labs although I also provide support to the wider institute helping with the smooth and efficient running of the labs.
Prior to joining EI, I worked for Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital on their COVID testing site, swabbing patients and keyworkers for both COVID and MRSA.
I graduated from the University of East Anglia with a BSc (Hons) in Biological Sciences, where I undertook a project looking at the role of microRNAs during neural crest development in early-stage Xenopus laevis embryos. During my degree, I also took part in a variety of science communication opportunities that led to me working in primary schools, mentoring sixth form students and working as an Event Manager for Pint of Science Festival.
