This two-day hands-on training workshop will enable researchers that are currently using long read technology and those analysing long read RNAseq data, to produce genome annotations, differential expression analyses and RenSeq.

About the event.

**This event has been postponed from 2020 due to the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic. The speakers were confirmed for our 2020 event, and we are hopeful they will be able to attend in 2021.**

About:

This two-day workshop will provide a combination of presentation of use cases of long read RNAseq, technology developments from the Chief Scientific Officers of leading long read technology companies, sample processing hints and tips from the experts in sequencing facilities at Earlham Institute and Uppsala’s SciLifeLab.

In addition we will provide some hands on examples of quantification, differential expression and resistance gene enrichment sequencing (e.g. RenSeq).

Target audience:

Research staff and students who are current users of long read technology for the production of transcriptomic data and those analysing long read RNAseq data to produce genome annotations, differential expression analyses and those using RenSeq.

We particularly encourage early career researchers and PhD students to submit abstracts for selection for oral presentation.

Registration includes lunch and refreshments on both days, plus the workshop dinner on Tuesday, 15 June 2021 in a private function room at The Georgian Townhouse.

Accommodation is not included, however we are pleased to include a list below of hotels in the area to suit different budgets:

  • Broadview Lodge is on the nearby University of East Anglia (UEA) campus, offers reasonable rates and is around a 20 minute walk to Earlham Institute.

  • There are many Travelodge and Premier Inn hotels in and around Norwich, various distances to EI.  

  • The Georgian Townhouse is 2.9 miles from EI, near the city centre, and is where we are holding the workshop dinner.

  • Park Farm Hotel is 4 miles from EI, to the south of Norwich in the village of Hethersett.

  • Maid’s Head Hotel is 4.6 miles from EI in the centre of Norwich city, next to the Cathedral.
