PhD Student

Contact details:

Elie is a BBSRC Doctoral Training Programme student based at the University of East Anglia, but in collaboration with the Technology and Algorithms Group (Leggett Group) at the Earlham Institute.

Her PhD project focuses on how metagenomic sequencing using Nanopore devices such as the MinION can be applied to plant-pollinator interactions. Bee pollen loads carry valuable information about foraging behaviour, which can be applied to agricultural management practices.

Elie is part of the BBSRC iCASE studentship, which involves a 3-month internship with her industrial partner BerryWorld. Previous to starting her PhD at UEA, Elie completed an integrated MSci degree in Biological Sciences from the University of Bristol.
