Biography
I am a Year in Industry Student studying an M.Sci in Biochemistry at the University of Birmingham.
At the Earlham Institute I am conducting a project as part of the Neil Hall group, researching genomic surveillance of plant pathogens, and more specifically the occurrence of fungicide resistance in both wild and crop pathogen populations, and how effector genes in the pathogen interact with resistance genes in the host.
Prior to working at the EI I undertook an internship at the Centre for Functional Genomics at Oxford Brookes University where I contributed to research into differential expression of transcription factors in drosophila across different stages of their development and in different tissues. This experience is what led me to be interested in studying genomics and in working in a research environment.
