I joined the Earlham Institute (EI) in January 2018 as a Postdoctoral Researcher in Wheat Transcriptomics and Epigenomics, within the Organisms and Ecosystems Group. My role focuses on Non Coding RNA Genomics for the Wheat Institute Strategic Programme (ISP) funded by the BBSRC.

Prior to joining EI, between 2013 and 2017, I studied for my PhD in Biochemistry at the University of Cambridge. My PhD project focused on the Genomics, Transcriptomics and Proteomics analysis of Euglena gracilis - which is a photosynthetic green flagellate.

Before starting my PhD at the University of Cambridge, between 2010 and 2013, I worked with the Environment department of the Shell Petroleum Development Company (SPDC) Nigeria Limited as a Graduate Research Intern, Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Inspector, and Senior HSE Co-ordinator. My role focused on Environmental monitoring and compliance.

In 2011, I obtained my Master of Science (MSc) degree in Environmental Toxicology and Pollution Management from the University of Lagos, Akoka, South Western Nigeria, where I also worked as a Teaching Assistant at the Department of Zoology. In 2008, I observed my 1 year mandatory National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) at the School of Health Technology, Keffi, North Central Nigeria, where I taught Environmental Health Technology and Pest Management courses. In 2007, I obtained my Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Parasitology and Entomology from Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, South Eastern Nigeria.
